Treatment Program for Lower Back, Neck, and Shoulder Pain

What are shoulder problems?
Shoulder pain is a bothersome condition that can significantly limit your daily activities. Symptoms may develop gradually or appear suddenly and intensely. It is often difficult and painful to raise the arm or rotate it. It is generally estimated that about 1 in 5 people experience shoulder pain. For many people, the pain goes away after about six weeks. However, shoulder pain can also persist for more than six months. This depends on the cause of the pain and the treatment.

Proper treatment of your shoulder pain ensures that you recover quickly and fully. This allows you to move pain-free again and carry out your daily activities. Not only is a quick recovery crucial, but a lasting recovery is also important. The best possible care for your shoulder pain With the Shoulder Pain Care Plan, you receive the best possible care for your shoulder pain. The care plan is a protocol-based program developed by professionals specializing in shoulder conditions and is tailored to the severity and type of shoulder pain you are experiencing. This care plan is provided by a physical therapist specially trained in this area.

About 80 percent of adults in the Netherlands experience back pain at some point. Everyday activities become difficult and painful due to back pain. Sometimes it comes on suddenly, sometimes it creeps up slowly. In most cases, the body recovers well within a week, and you can rely on your back again. But sometimes the symptoms persist, and proper treatment of your back pain is important to get rid of your pain as quickly as possible. This way, you can move pain-free again and carry out your daily activities. Back pain is different for everyone, and the treatment for your back is a personalized, tailored approach.

Neck pain is unpleasant and prevents you from moving freely. Looking around or driving a car suddenly becomes a painful experience. The pain can come on suddenly—perhaps from making a wrong move—or develop gradually. Neck pain is bothersome and always seems to strike at the worst possible time. After back pain, neck pain is the most common complaint related to movement. Proper treatment of neck pain ensures (rapid) improvement and optimal recovery. This allows you to move pain-free again and carry out your daily activities.

The care for your lower back, neck, or shoulder condition begins the moment you arrive at the physical therapy practice. Prior to your first appointment with your physical therapist, you will receive several questionnaires. Completing these questionnaires helps us provide you with the best possible care. At the practice, we get right to work and determine the cause of your pain. By doing this immediately, we can accurately assess the treatment needed to help you become pain-free again. We believe in a personalized approach: No two complaints are the same, and treatment therefore requires a tailored plan.  The physical therapist will work with you to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your situation and goals. We’ll look for an approach that addresses your symptoms and contributes to long-term recovery.

Our approach to treating your condition involves a combination of advice, exercises, and assessments. Treatment can last anywhere from six to twelve weeks. We’re committed to results: that’s why we track your progress in your patient record. This way, you’ll know exactly where you stand and what results to expect. By the end of your treatment, you’ll be able to move pain-free again.

Zorgtopics is a cooperative in which practices collaborate to develop the best possible care for nonspecific lower back, neck, and shoulder pain. The care plans are designed to ensure high-quality care and are developed by professionals based on national guidelines and current scientific insights.

Your physical therapist is specially trained to treat your condition using the care plan. In the care plan, we identify different types of pain that may be contributing to your condition. This depends on the symptoms you are experiencing. A care plan provides the physical therapist with clear guidance throughout the treatment process, allowing for the use of various tools, such as e-health. For example, during the treatment process, it is possible to receive remote guidance. This may include information about your condition, consultations with your physical therapist, or online exercises. This allows you to work on your recovery at home, either on your own or together with your physical therapist. The use of e-health is determined in consultation with your physical therapist.

Yes, the care plans are covered by your supplemental health insurance. The treatments you receive from your physical therapist will be deducted from the physical therapy coverage provided by your supplemental insurance. Check with your health insurance provider to find out how many treatments you are entitled to.

The health insurer will use a certain number of treatments covered by your supplemental insurance to reimburse the physical therapist:
