We use Sendi, a secure service that allows our assistant to safely share information with you via text message. Sendi is used to reach you quickly and reliably when necessary. With Sendi, you can, among other things:
- receive practical information (e.g., about an appointment or how to prepare);
- fill out a questionnaire required for your treatment;
- receive a secure link to upload a photo, such as one of a skin lesion or wound.
You will only receive messages via Sendi when they are relevant to your care. All communications are secure and comply with all privacy guidelines in the healthcare sector.
Appointment
An appointment with the family doctor lasts 15 minutes and is intended for a single issue. Do you have multiple issues? In that case, we’d be happy to schedule a double appointment. For minor, simple issues, we also offer a 5-minute consultation (e.g., to examine a spot on the skin or pain following a fall).
When you call, the receptionist will ask you a few questions to assess the urgency of your issue and determine how much time is needed for your appointment. Sometimes, advice over the phone is sufficient; this is always noted in your medical record and reviewed by your primary care physician.
You can make an appointment at mijngezondheid.net or by phone (see contact information). We do not schedule appointments at the front desk.
Who else might you encounter in the clinic?
(All of the staff members listed below work under the supervision of the family physician)
- Clinic Assistants They are the first point of contact: they schedule appointments, provide advice, and perform various procedures on behalf of the family doctor, such as Pap smears, treating warts, checking blood pressure, removing stitches, flushing ears, and giving injections.
- Somatic Practice Support Specialist (POH-S) Provides care for people with chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma/COPD, and cardiovascular disease. They also assist with applying for medical devices, conduct follow-up visits after gastric bypass surgery, and arrange home care.
- Geriatric Care Coordinator (POH-O) The POH-O helps identify health issues in older adults at an early stage. She assesses their health and home situation and coordinates care with other healthcare providers, so that people can continue to live independently at home for as long as possible.
- Mental Health Practice Support Specialist (POH-GGZ) Provides guidance and treatment, upon referral from a general practitioner, to people with mental health issues. They advise the general practitioner on appropriate treatment or referral. For adolescents, there is a separate POH-GGZ team within the Haarlemmermeer Health Centers (Floriande and Overbos locations).
- Exercise Therapy Practice Support Specialist (POH-Exercise Therapy) The POH-Exercise Therapy holds office hours for people with pain or muscle and joint complaints. She assesses the severity of the complaint and provides advice on what you can do yourself, such as movement and exercises. If necessary, she will recommend that you see a physical therapist.
- SOH CVRM: The general practitioner’s clinic assistant is specially trained to see patients at increased risk of cardiovascular disease
