McKenzie therapy

MDT McKenzie is the abbreviation for Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment according to McKenzie. It is a globally used diagnostic and treatment method for people with musculoskeletal complaints and yields excellent results for back and neck complaints, with or without radiating pain in the legs or arms. The goal of the method is not only to make the complaints disappear as quickly as possible, but also to ensure that they recur as little as possible in the future. MDT McKenzie is a clearly defined treatment system based on scientific research.

Following a clear mechanical diagnosis, treatment begins, focusing on your 'self-reliance'. You will learn to improve your symptoms yourself with just a few simple exercises to accelerate your recovery as much as possible. In addition, attention will be given to your posture and movements during your daily life. The therapist may supplement the therapy with manual techniques, such as mobilizations and/or manipulations.

MDT McKenzie is currently the most researched and best-documented treatment method worldwide for mechanical complaints of the musculoskeletal system. The insights are used in many international guidelines for manual and exercise therapy. The therapists listed in the MDT McKenzie register have completed all course modules over a period of two years and successfully demonstrated their knowledge in a theoretical and practical examination. They will examine and treat you according to the clearly defined principles of MDT McKenzie. Furthermore, they are expected to participate in regular continuing education.
