POH-GGZ Worry Group: a successful first edition

The “Worry Group” is a practical course of six sessions in which participants learn to recognize when they worry.

They learn how the brain works and which factors perpetuate worrying. During the meetings, they are provided with concrete exercises and strategies to gain more control over recurring worrying thoughts and to build helpful thinking and behavioral patterns.

The first “Worry Group” held at GC Floriande has now concluded and was a great success. Participants were satisfied with the content, but especially with the sharing within the group. Experiencing “I am not the only one,” the feeling of being heard and understood, and practicing together were considered particularly valuable by everyone.

Due to the enthusiasm from patients and Mental Health Practice Nurses, as well as the positive results, a second “Worry Group” will start next year. For more information, please contact your GP.
