Information for referrers

Physiotherapy Health Centres Haarlemmermeer is affiliated with the Onco Care Centre, a network of collaborating BIG-registered disciplines in the region.


The oncology physiotherapist treats, guides, and advises patients with cancer or residual symptoms after cancer. Specific complaints resulting from the cancer or its treatment may include pain, fatigue, reduced muscle strength, reduced endurance, or limited range of motion in one or more joints. The treatment is therefore not aimed at the cancer itself, but at the consequences of the disease. If necessary, collaboration within the practice is possible with the manual therapist, shoulder physiotherapist, lymphedema physiotherapist, jaw physiotherapist, or psychosomatic physiotherapist and/or exercise therapist. Additionally, there is multidisciplinary collaboration involving, among others , occupational therapy, dietetics, podiatry, a psychologist and the home care organizations Bloezem and Amstelring . 


Nikkie de Haan, Cheryl Brunt, and Doris Matlock are physiotherapists specializing in edema and oncology, and are the case managers at the Onco Care Center for the Hoofddorp location.

Merel van Nimwegen
