Cardiac rehabilitation in collaboration with the Spaarne Gasthuis
Our specialized physiotherapists at the gc Floriande and gc Overbos locations offer cardiac rehabilitation:
- after suffering a heart attack (myocardial infarction)
- after angioplasty and/or stent placement (PCI)
- after undergoing heart surgery (CAGB)
for chronic heart failure
We work closely with the cardiac rehabilitation department at the Spaarne Gasthuis in this regard.
At the hospital, a comprehensive intake is conducted and a bicycle test is administered.
If the cardiologist approves, the referral with all details will be forwarded to us, and you can schedule an appointment with one of our specialized physiotherapists.
We will work with you to rebuild your fitness, strength, and self-confidence. This process is different for everyone and is determined by your goals and challenges. Treatments often consist of a combination of strength and cardio training, supplemented with education on exercise and a healthy lifestyle. We always start with an initial assessment, evaluate the goals periodically and adjust them if necessary, and conclude with a final assessment.
During this process, we maintain close contact with the Cardiology department at the Spaarne Gasthuis for questions or consultation. We always send a final report to the cardiologist when the treatment process is concluded.
Cardiac rehabilitation is reimbursed under the supplementary insurance for physiotherapy.
