About us

General

Stichting Gezondheidscentra Haarlemmermeer is the umbrella organization for the Overbos, Floriande, and Drie Meren health centers in Hoofddorp. The General Practitioners' Emergency Post Haarlemmermeer is also part of this foundation.

Residents of the Overbos and Floriande neighborhoods can visit the health centers for general practitioner care and physiotherapy. There is also a pharmacy at Health Center Floriande and Health Center Drie Meren. Healthcare providers at the health centers collaborate extensively with each other. 

 

Various other healthcare providers are also present for one or more half-days. For example, the dietitian and podiatrist.   

 

Our healthcare providers consider it important to provide you with good information, so that you together with the healthcare provider and your own choices regarding your care or treatment. 

 

All healthcare providers consider it important to deliver high-quality care. They work according to the latest standards and guidelines of their professional group and receive regular further training.  

 

Stichting Gezondheidscentra Haarlemmermeer holds the ISO Care and Welfare quality certificate (NEN-EN 15224) for the entire organization. This means that we receive an annual visit from an independent body that spends a few days observing whether we have our affairs well organized and provide good and safe care.   

 

Clients are involved in policy-making. Research into client experiences is conducted regularly (via questionnaires), and there is a client council.

Merel van Nimwegen

  • Merel van Nimwegen is a pediatric physiotherapist. She specializes in treating children with headaches, sensory processing issues, and psychosomatic complaints. Since 2025, Merel has been working on Fridays at the Paramedical Treatment Center for Headaches to treat children under the age of 14 with headaches.   • Manual therapist specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with headache complaints. Additionally, he is pursuing scientific training at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Sciences).

Dr. René Castien

  • Manual therapist, senior researcher at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and advisor at the Paramedical Treatment Center for Headache. Obtained a PhD from the Faculty of Medicine at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam based on research into the effectiveness of manual therapy for tension headache. René supervises and coordinates the collaboration on scientific research into headache between VU Amsterdam and the Paramedical Treatment Center for Headache.
